Letterman you suck! How dare you talk to Alton like that!

I don't like Letterman much. He always insists on using the same material over and over, and it's almost never funny. Like the cheese part. Really? That was funny. AB just seemed to be waiting for him to put it down. You could tell how impatient he was because of Letterman. Also, the part with the pepper. AB had already moved on, and Letterman had to go back to it.

AB just seemed rushed. He was trying to get his 6 minute segment done and Dave was telling rediculous jokes. I have never been a Letterman fan. There was absolutely NO chemistry there. Dave wanted to make it all about himself. "Pepper and metal shavings"??? That has to be one of the worst attempts at humor I have seen. AB was taking control and Dave did not like it. Carson would never have acted so childish. Dave is an embarrasment to Johnny's legacy.

I agree. I like Letterman. Much better than Leno at least who can dish out put downs but seems downright hostile at even the most modest attempts to poke fun at him. [Makes you wonder whether Len's ego is that fragile or whether he is that arrogant.] Anyhow, no one beats Johnny Carson at interaction with guests. Funny, but respectful, self-deprecating. Great. Alton Brown is good. Like his show. And I didn't think this was that bad.

I know what you mean I was in love with Bobby Flay and then he was on that CBS show with that Evangelista guy and I fell out of love with him. So I guess I won't be watching NFNS so I won't lose the intrigue I have for Alton B.

I disagree; he's a pro at what he does, and knows what he's talking about.Sure the interview was rough; however, nothing can help the fact that "Dave" is ancient and hasn't been relevant for over ten years."Get those damned kids off my lawn!"

What's wrong with the interview? Maybe Alton was a little star struck--he said in an interview on a fan website that he was imitating Letterman when he first started doing the show. Letterman was being himself, Alton just stood back and let him do his jokes.

there was just a chemistry problem with the two of them...they just dont click...alton was being upstaged by dave and u could tell he didnt like it and was very uncomfortable...but here's the deal, i love alton but he can be a total jerk sometimes, if u watch the next food network star and c how he treats the contestants every season u'll c what i mean, but the truth is sometimes he can just be a dick

I didn't see anything wrong with this interview. Nothing seemed bad about Alton, he just seemed nervous, and I don't think Letterman was mean or anything to him. I'm used to him though, lol. Has anyone ever seen him when he has Richard Simmons on the show? Hilarious. This was nothing.
