yeah, the Flinstones wasn't based on the Honeymooners. but you could've fooled ME.

Little known fact. The Flintstones was not based on the Honeymooners. I saw Mike Hanna on t.v. saying that in an interview. It was filmed some years back. He said he was glad to be associated with such a great show. but, you could've fooled me and everyone else. They DID tell Mel Blanc do try and make his character sound like a prehistoric Art Carney though. But I'm sort of glad I caught him saying that. Now I know the truth.

In the early 90s Joe was a co-star on a gameshow called "Couch Potatoes". The show was about tv trivia, and they'd cut to him doing some jokes and imitations related to the shows that were talked about, as they went to commercial.

Yup. Fred and Barney mimick Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton. In fact, a WB cartoon of the Honey Mooners called the "Honey Mousers" use the voice of Daws Butler who also voiced Fred and Barney in the Flintstones pilot episode, "The Flagstones." |
