Thank you for this wonderfully informative and delightful video. At last, a YouTube video where I am not being attacked for wearing hijab.

Salamun alaykum,To learn about the truth of Islam taught by Allah in the Glorious Quran, goto:mediafire(dot)com/?a4xxeavaanaYou might need Word Viewer if you dont have Microsoft Office (google "Word Viewer" for a free download)A must read for any practicing Muslim. It is the truth in the Quran which the majority of Muslims have abandoned... may Allah (swt) guide us

It is possible that I am unaware of it, but I have seen nothing stating that this is one of the tenets that requires enforcement. It is true certain laws, such as laws regarding murder, theft, adultery, and calumny are enforced with penalties, but to my knowledge I am not familiar with one regarding Hijab.

ALright, point taken. But women should NEVER be forced to wear the hajib no matter the country. Women should be free to chose without harrassment from anyone.
PeterJDeer (August 17, 2008 at 10:20 pm)
I would not say so. I have seen arabs who were very respectful towards women and treated them with the utmost dignity and courtesy, and how much moreso have I seen Persians act this way! But I have also seen the opposite, and I have seen people of other ethnicities than those two act in such a manner. But the teachings of Islam are clear in these words of the Prophet: "Fear God in respect of Women."The Quran proscribes Hijab. There need be no compulsion here save that of a woman's own faith.

"I think you'll find, however, that the vastest of majorities of Muslims are capable of being in the presence of an unveiled woman and will not harass them." I think you maybe correct. It appears the arabs and iranians are the only people backwards enough to harrass women for wearing the hajib. WOmen should be free to chose.

I cannot answer to why your perceptions are such. I, in fact, am an American, and have never lived in a Muslim country. My understanding of Islamic Law comes solely from the Quran and other accounts of the word of Muhammad as well as the history of the faith, and is not mixed with the interpretations and rulings of jurists or clergymen.I think you'll find, however, that the vastest of majorities of Muslims are capable of being in the presence of an unveiled woman and will not harass them. |
