Coming to DVD on August 26th, 2008. Performed in toy theater style, using paper puppets and sets, Dante's Inferno is a satirical update of the classic tour of Hell. Its venue is the familiar places of modern civilization: mini malls, airports, gated communities, used car lots, and the U.S. capitol. The ancient Roman poet Virgil (voiced by James Cromwell) guides our hapless Dante (voiced by Dermot Mulroney) through the nine circles of the underworld. Much like an animated graphic novel, the film follows the hapless slacker Dante as he accompanies Virgil into the depths of the Inferno, encountering various popes, princes, presidents, and pimps along the way.

I haven't watched it, Ijust know the plot. I don't think show. It seems to me like a more contemporary version of Dante's Inferno. Don't forget that by the time Dante wrote it (somewhere around 1300-1500's if iam not mistaken) they had Middle Age in Europe and stuff like burning whoever they thought was a heretic. Don't forget that the Vatican also used Dante's inferno to frighten those who were opposed to the Pope.

Ah, the inferno... I got it for Christmas when I was 12, and since I was really sick that entire week, I kinda sat in bed all day reading it. I'm reading it again in school right now, and it's bringing back so many memories!!
