he has food in his bowl all day and night long. Whenever he's hungry and needs to eat. There's food available to him.

120 pound ones, like bulldog/pit and mastiff/pit, even tho the ukc rec. these as purebred, they are not) BUT anyway, amstaffs have been bred and have a consistent look to them, whereas pits do not(relatively), but yes if you get what im saying, its all about selective breeding, lets say pits are are a bunch of dogs that look mostly like eachother but not exactly, and then you take them some and breed them and line breed, etc. for 70 years, your going to have a more structured and consistent look
ballinitup1993 (June 12, 2008 at 2:17 pm)
yes, which has come about due to... selective breeding, they have a more defined breed standard, and breed to that standard, they've bred amstaffs selectively for the past 70 years, and now we have a more consistent look to it, APBT, has a very loose standard(the weight is even like 30-120 pounds) and most pit breeders dont really care about the breed standard, and do not have good stock, which is why pits vary so widely in look and weight and everything(not counting the crosses, which are the..

If you look at the bone structure, weight of the dog, head structure they are different. Pitbulls are not too big and not too small, an Amstaff is a much heavier dog, which is not good when it comes to fighting, also an amstaff has longer legs and a more round head structure, where the pit has a more slab like head. I do understand your point and both dogs are descendants from the same breed, but too many changes have taken place to be considered the same breed. |
