You are welcome, terrifict13. He was bright and had many books of many different area of interests. He used the techniques called Potamento and Tempo Rubato, used by Schuert and other musicians. I think he had a lot of knowledge of music history as well, so he might have studied Schubert and used some technique which was popular at that time, that created his own tempo like now we are listening to. So, we know that his violin(music) is very unique that nobody can play like he did.

Kreisler was so smart as well as a gifted violinist. Unlike many violinists or musician, he was interested in science and so many other subjects. He was born in 1875, and first his tour of the US is in 1888/89. So, he was only 13 years old. When he was 15, he wanted to play in Vienna but turned down because his vibrato was so differnt and good, does not blended in the first violin section. So, sad Kreisler left music and studied to be a doctor. He served WWI. He was a good doctor as well.

I think you are right. The great Joan Sutherland has sung this way all of her career. Heifetz, on the other hand, has always tended high (as did Callas).

I did some research and found out that Massenet is one of his teacher. No wonder Kreisler is a great composer as well as talented violinist. Massenet must be so pround of his outstanding pupil, Kerisler. And, no wonder he can play this piece with care and application.

His violin is so special to me. His beautiful music shows that he has a good heart and romanctic. Excellent humanbeing like your grandfather!!
