final answer number 4, so in conclusion, press autopilot button, then press hdg sel button (the black button in middle of knob) to go to your heading, then selec a verticle speed that will allow the plane to reach the altutude you want and press the verticle hold button, and it should do as told. Definitly learn how to use the FMC which will handle all of that automatically. I'd be glad to help.

answer part 3, it will go to the altitude in the window, while maintaining the current spped that is in the speed window. This is not a very detailed description of the full capabilities of the Automatics, but it goes to show you that by just pushing the Autopilot button , the plane will only maintain the current bank if it's more than 5 or so degrees (otherwise it will just level the wings), and it will maitain the current verticle speed you were at when you pressed the button. |
