i think it has to do with Ancient Greek philosophical studies which dwelve into the deepest reccesses of the mind. We see the girl and the dog while the bus driver acts as the major protaginist who POWER in this instance has been corrupted and promts the demise of his people who are left to rot in the gallows while he glows within his golden chambers. This is quite clear i feel through the reccurring motiff of the dog's head of the man, while the women has the head of a slut.
