interesting thread ...iewho owns what ...you have the ultimate owner ie brand / distributionthen the assembly plant - sometimes this is subcontracted out to a 3rd party!then we have the producers of the main & the sub components.most cars are now truly european in the 'chain of added value'does it always matter who owns the brand ?if 'your country' has the assembly & a good chunk of the parts thats surely where the 'benefits' comes from.

exactly! my dad just bought a new xkr and its like having a farrari or aston everyone wonders what it is and say theyve never seen that before it is defenetly "exclusive" beamers and mercs are ten a penny

Jaguars beat Beamers and Mercs anytime. BMWs and Mercs are on the road everywhere~ They're so common that they're not "exclusive" anymore. In the other hand, the Jaguar XJ definitely keeps its exclusivity. The guy mentions that the cup holders are too small and the sunshade has to be manually operated. What kind of a lazy ass can't use their arms to pull it up! And I don't know about anyone else but it looks so much better than it's competetors by far. And I also love the old skool look~
