Seems like electric, plug-in hybrid vehicles will be the first automobile evolution to hit the market. Within the next couple of years, it seems as though there will be a push by all of the major automobile manufacturers to offer plug-ins to customers. This offers a tremendous investment opportunity in lithium-ion battery companies, as well as in electric motor manufacturers.

The Volt actually is due in 2010 as well. :)

Nope. I know what you're talking about and that's more like a Yahoo! messenger thing. Youtube wouldn't do this.

Mr Forlorn Studios, do you think that "smug" was not actually a mispelling?

I've seen, or heard, more acurately, this problem on my computer too. Then I discovered that the sound was being arbitrarily turned down by windows. It wasn't just me, I've seen a friends computer do this too. So go to your Settings then Control Panel then Sounds and Audio Devices then Sound Playback, here you click the volume button. If you see the slides are not turned up you know this is the problem. I hope this helps.

Exactly, the concept is VERY appealing and I'm 100% behind it, but a lot of poeple have nowhere to plug in their car. I don't think any of my friends have access to an outlet where they park their cars. But if all the people who does switched, it'd still be a huge improvement. The rest could wait for infrastructure for either an EV or Hydrogen car.

Higher primary electrical demand.

"If the current U.S. vehicle fleet were replaced overnight with PHEVs, oil consumption would decrease by 70 to 90 percent"Seems a bit of a stretch considering that some 20+% of the car owners (apartment renters/condo owners) will have nowhere to plug in their car, since they don't park their car close to an outlet at home or work. Until the infrastructure is there to support these vehicles adaption rate will not be that high.

The first will come out in 2009-2010.But the most famous (The Volt) might not. |
