I agree with anonomen there as I have seen plenty of near accidents in a long draft ringing chamber, I belive Liverpool is long draft. Also it varies on size of the wheel and how much rope coils up on the floor. I wanted to ring here just before I had a ringing accident myself, having a seizure while ringing made me drop the rope and walk around the ringing chamber, it scared the ringers now I had the culpirt out which was a brain tumour, waiting till I get stronger the attempt to come.

There is such a long distyane between the end of the rope and the woolen "Sally" that if the ringer were not on a box the rope would coil up around the feet and become dangerous...

Love the bells, love watching the ringers: question, and I do mean this as a sincere, honest, and kind question:Why are some of the ringers on boxes? Why are not the ropes just a little longer?

The power and the glory; the splendour and the majesty that is Liverpool Cathedral. My favourite ring of bells in my favourite city. Nothing can match them. Thank you so much for posting.

As I saw from this discussion If I remember 1 bellringer(cant rememebr his name) who rang at Hertford, herts had only had 1 arm and rang I was told by the tower captain of Hertford All Saints or St Andrews he was able to ring the tenor at liverpool and turn it in on a method that included the tenor. I remembered him saying this before I was force to give up ringing for few years until now thanks to the op. |
