Bullshit.... the cop told him to turn around, the guy turns away and his hands can't be seen. deserved it 1000% percent. Over 25 cops die every year (2 per month) in shooting incidents... Don't play when a cop says "turn around" and don't keep your hand hidden.But I agree his girlfriend does look hot :-)

Also, for all their worry about it, and using it as an excuse to act like douchebags, police don't rank in even the top ten in on the job mortality, and only fifth in job-related homicides, at 5 per one hundred thousand cops. Cab drivers were highest at 26.9. So stop whining about it, cops. Your job is risky, but not so risky you can disregard everyones' rights to make it safer for you! I don't see cab drivers beating and trussing their fares when they act suspicious!

A simple internet search shows up these figures: Most fatalities in the line of duty: 285, in 1930, after the stock market crash; second highest: 278 in 1974, when heroin and cocaine craziness was at its peak. Shooting deaths were also highest for those periods: 172 in 1930 and 143 in 1973. Since then both are on the decline with a low of 44 in '99 and never more than 80 since '82. Despite a population increase since the 70s of 300%, police deaths have declined by 100 in the

That's borderline...the tape's too fuzzy to see if his girlfriend was really that hot.Actually, I think the cop saw him grabbing for his pocket (and the guy kept doing it blatantly) after he told him to put his hand behind his back...the guy got what he deserved, I think...STFU ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Basic rules for citizen-police interaction were not followed by either party. Refusal to sign should have been followed by a calm explanation from the cop of the potential consequences and/or an inquiry of why citizen did not want to sign. The citizen needs to be aware that police must assume you are armed--keep your hands in sight, don't make any move that the cop might perceive as threatening, etc. Both parties failed to use common sense, and escalation ensued.
