A headline in today's Nation (12 July 2008), reflecting upon Tony Snow's succumbing to cancer, reads, "Snow Brought a Measure of Dignity to White House." What can be said about the deep ambiguity of the phrase "a measure of dignity" when it is used as a point of contrast with the current POTUS?

The bruise on Bush's face is from when he was attacked by a pretzel and fell off of a couch. Obviously one does not get such a carpet burn from a fall of a few inches. He had to be completely drunk falling face first on the floor.
