Yeah, we all kid the French, about how snooty they are and all. But just think about it. They are a country with so many firsts: aviation, medicine, science, photography, even cartoons and special effects. And what a cuture! Classic painting, sculture, music, film , clothing, and FOOD! I love reading revisionist history. Every book and account give Edison as the inventor of what people would consider "Motion Photography" or the Kinetiscope. If folks learned their history from the internet, U.S. citizens would have not invented a single thing. Besides, the French have plenty of inventions to hang their baquettes on, such as French Fries and French Toast. Both awesome as well as tasty inventions. But I kid the French.
