When this first came out, what I was most surprised by was the absence of the mellotron, which was so prominent in the preceding McDonald & Giles (& Fripp & Lake) release. In truth, the acoustic sounds -- guitar, piano, sax -- stand out for their crispness. I actually ran into MacDonald and Giles at a petrol station in 2002 -- just after their Canterbury Fayre show (with Schizoid Band). One of my all-time favorite albums.

I've LOVED this album from day one and I think these guys were WAY ahead of their time. Unfortunately, I don't think THIS particular song was their best. If you have the entire album...PLEASE give me more! PLEASE!!!

The instruments sound so real and live.... very rare to hear what a real drum set sounds like in a room on record.
