Very nice arrangement and a lovely blend of sounds. The pipes, harp and fiddle are a great combination in particular. Lovely - one of my favourite pieces too.

They truly are a great band playing the music from the blind Irish harpist. They are from Aragon, northwest Spain.But... Does anyone really believe that the legacy from the Celts in Spain has anything to do with the talent of these guys?? Too much time has passed and many other cultures have influenced our traditional music!!

Romulus. Thank you for the interesting reply. I am just amazed at how well they play the music and difficult instruments like the uilleann pipes.

Because Spain has a tie to the Celtic world. The people of the Celtic period were Celtíberos (Celtic Iberians). :)

Why are the Spanish attracted to and so good at Irish music?

I think those pipes must be from France, but they do look a bit like the old Irish war-pipes I've seen drawings of. This group is probable from France of Spain I would guess.

¡Qué música tan extraordinaria!. Este O'Carolan debió de ser un genio.

what kinda pipes are those? i've never seen those before. that man is holding the bodhran wrong, not the irish way, thats how tars are played in the middle east, can't change the pitch properly like that.the tune was nice though and it all sounded good together |
