The abundance of the 20th century was mainly due to freedom. It sounds absurd. But as our freedoms increased in the advanced countries our minds opened up we developed technologies that increased our productivity. This is a continuation from the industrial revolution times. I'm nnot saying the rich countries were ever 100% free but the past 100 years were a period I believe were freedoms of the individual were very evident. Now we are walking away from freedom again and things should go backward

I would best describe globalisation as the worldwide implementation of the elite western powerbase. This will ultimately manifest itself as an international governemnt (globalisation of government) and complete control of the masses through full spectrum marginalisation (economic, ideologic, physiologically and with perpetual conflicts).

(100/1300000000)x250000 = 0.01923%can you tell me how the hell you worked your answer out?

India has a population of about 1.3 billion. About 250000 people profit directly from globalization through callcentres etc. 250000 is about 0.0002% 1.3 billion.

Did you make the "0.0002%" out of thin air...It would be around 0.019%+

The other globalization (see my previous comment) involves real flesh and blood people, trading with, talking with, and organizing with each other across borders. This globalization is a great threat to consolidation of power by liability shielding business organizations, typically called corporations, which are designed (by law) to increase profit and market share at the expense of development and well-being in the communities they operate in.

I'd add, following Chomsky, that there are two kinds of globalization. One is so-called "globalization", which is really consolidation of capital & power in multi-national business organized under Western/Norther Corporate law. I disagree about the lack of government intervention, b/c gov't is being used to protect these multi-national firms, often by enacting strict regulations, eg investor protection laws, and IP regimes (which are anti-competitive, as all serious capitalist should note).

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Especially regarding China. |
