Yes, I see it. At first, I thought he was just putting his hands to his head in shock. If you do a bit of pausing, at the beginning of the clock showing 1 second, he isn't calling time out. He probably doesn't start calling time out until about .5 seconds left, which doesn't give much time for the ref to grant it before time runs out. Added to that, I don't know the time out timing rules back in '83. The only timing rule I do know is that the clock doesn't stop with a basket in '83.

Tell me about it regarding MEM...I consider that the greatest "choke job" in NCAA-T history! Dammit I didn't want KU to win but hey that goes to show that FT's are as vitally important as making 3's and dunks, though FT's may not be as "glamorous" but anyway

You can clearly see number 42 calling for time out with 1 second left after the Charles dunk.

The reason no one was there was because everyone thought Benny Anders had stolen the ball (namely Akeem, who was supposed to be there) and had run out thinking it was fastbreak.And the rest as they say is history.

That whole final seconds was tragic. The shot was way short and Charles just happen to be there BUT blocking out would have been a good idea

Go ask Memphis that lol. They had freethrow issues(although they did well throughout the tournament up until the championship pressure momments).

you just don't see that kind of emotion in sports anymore like you see in this game, cheerleaders, players(especially the players) showcase all kinds of emotion
