To the Mimi haters out there, it is my opinion that as a kids show the crests symbolize the best and worst traits of each of the kids. Although Mimi usually annonoys the others with her whining she is generally being sincere. Just like Tai can be reckless, and Joe can be overbearing and a worry wart because he is so dependable and feels everyone's safety is his concern. It's their faults that can be turned to strengh that let the digimon digivole. This is actually a very well planned out show.
