i just put back a toshiba satellite p300-172 because of the screen reflection.. looled at a zepto but they said 90% of laptops have these anti glare panels..theyre a manufacturing standard..must be cheaper to produce..dunno..anyways..i need a new compy asap..has anyone seen a 'gaming spec' laptop with a matt screen or no reflection?thanks!

I know for sure that Lenovos T61 has 1920x1200 though only as 15"4. Otherwise no ideaPersonally I wouldn't buy a 17" laptop, it's simply to big, yet not large enough to comfortably watch movies. I have a secondary 21" screen on the wall currently exlusively for movies.

Hello, lukaszsw... I agree fully, I've also seen the crisp, clear, sharp quality of HP's "Bright View" laptop! Tho reflection is strong. I haven't seen any Lenovos in-person yet but am considering 17" IdeaPad. So far, MacBook Pro 17" is the only model I found that offers a choice of Glossy OR Matte finish screen. Been searching real hard for a 1920x1200 hi-res lappy (17") with anti-reflective (Matte) finish--Do you know of any to share with me? (Thanks)

So are you saying that MacBook Pro 17" does not suffer from overreflectiveness? I've seen my friends glossy HP screen and the image was more crispy and the viewing angles where way better than my Thinkpad R60.

THANKS for speaking up about this hyper-glossy issue on most current laptops. Hell for one's eyeballs, isn't it?! Seems the anti-glare / anti-reflective screen was lots more available, but, except on the MacBook Pro 17", I'm just not seeing it much lately. Making it hard for me to find a notebook that doesn't present this glare problem. WHAT'S WITH THIS GLOSSY CRAZE anyway? (yeah, an anti-glare film can be procured).

Not a problem for me, it protects the delicate LCD Film from dirt and damage. You can order a non-glossy version from Lenovo if your that much of a stickler.
