Yea, you should modify the gear ratio. I have a 4.5" lift and run 35" Toyo Open Country MT's, I went with a 4.56 gearing, otherwise you'll chew up your transmission pretty quick. Any extra HP/Torque you can add will help as well. 35" or bigger tires is a little overwhelming for the stock 245hp/280torque engine. I'm decked out with the URD supercharger now, but originally I spent about $4000 and got headers, y-tube, exhaust, CAI, ECU, and plugs which gave me another 100hp & torque. good luck.
