I was excommunicated from Willow twelve years ago. I was in small group leadership and was falsely accused of dating a married woman who was going through a divorce process. I counter-accused the church leadership of illegal slander for making this allegation, and was permanently excommunicated so that the leadership could avoid a public legal scandal.

The seeker movement presents a watered down, unbiblical gospel. People need to come face to face with "THE LAW" because they will be judged by it.This points out that they have sinned against God. They must see this or they cant be saved. Once saved, they need to live as God wants them to live. It's not OK to continue in Sin! It proves either no salvaton or no fear of God. 90% of the modern "church" FALLS AWAY! This is due to false teaching resulting in FALSE CONVERSION.

The message is watered down and not biblical. Unlike the bible, they dont teach to surrender the christian's will 110% to God and forsake the flesh, and TURN from Sin completely, they teach that even if sin continues, that is ok because Jesus' Grace is sufficient, even if you dont turn from sin. The word Grace in this context is "To empower unto deliverance" not Jesus overlooks and pretend sin never happened because a Christian cant stop sinning! God's grace empowers us to FORSAKE ALL SIN.

If it's true that you have come to Christ, what was told to you that changed you? What was the message?

My "testimony" is that I came to Jesus Christ on my knees from a shattered life of sin! Not only did He wash me in His precious Blood, but He has since completely overhauled my heart, mind and my entire life so that I am now a Pastor and a Seminary Graduate who was once a Looser on his way to Hell. THAT, MY FRIEND IS MY TESTIMONY.....PERIOD, OVER, END OF STORY!

THERE IS NOTHING "UN-BIBLICAL" ABOUT THAT!!As for "reading my Bible and getting it right", I happen to have both a Bachelor's Degree and a Master of Divinity from The Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. I am also a full-time Pastor.I HAVE INDEED "READ MY BIBLE" AND I "HAVE IT QUITE RIGHT".....THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

....sin,seperation, repentance = salvation! Exactly, I agree 110% and neither Bill Hybels nor Willow Creek has ever "varied" from that approach either. The ONLY thing they've sought to do is to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ in culturally relevant ways that connect with the current culture.

I see the point. It's just not Biblical, and that is why I cannot embrace this fractional teaching. God did not write the Bible that way, and we cant deviate! We can only be saved one way. Truth about Sin,separation,Repentance = Salvation! The apostles never varied the approach Although we want for things to be othwerwise, it's not biblical. Many have created a God to suit yourselves and your sins. Read your Bible to get it right. Time to read the hard sayings and ask God to open your eyes.

Too bad all these leaders are deciding on whether or not to get the youth group ps3's or xbox 360s rather than fighting the brutal injustices put out by the cruelties of our system here....

Well, it might not to you when all you need to deem something to be worthy of your acceptance is your subjective "how does so and so make you feel", but those that actually base their belief on truth and facts need something more namely truth and facts. I'm not sure how one could attend Willow Creek and actually believe themselves to be seeking for God unless they are ignorant of the facts or simply ignore the facts they know. Your comment is a personal testimony of that fact. Ironic, huh? |
