What a pair, I have always loved the instrumental version, I had no idea how good the vocal could be! Thank you chuckakins for taking the time to upload a really swell performance from two top notch musicians! Thanks as always to You Tube, and to Steve Wariner And the ever incomparable Chet Atkins C.G.P. And yes, lest I forget, ROCK ON SHINDIGGERS!

Steve Wariner was my FIRST favorite in country music and I miss him being on the road soooo much. So happy to see him playing with his hero, Chet was awesome and Steve has a beautiful voice to match his talent on the guitar. Thanks for posting this!!!

I agree with guitarzan50. Why do people have to spoil a great video and song by posting comments with the "F" word!!! Because of those kind of people, and YouTube allowing the word to appear, my daughter is not allowed to go on YouTube. It's a sad time we live in!

The song Sails can be found on Steve Wariner's album Drive. It was released by Arista in 1993.

Such a beautiful rendition. I never heard this lovely song with words. Is this vocals version available on some CD?

I just bought it on Vinyl at a local record shop in Providence, RI. Sounds beautiful on LP. You can also get it on CD, for the car too. They did an excellent job mastering it for the CD, IMHO. R.I.P Chet Atkins, best guitar player ever... This is such a hauntingly beautiful rendition of the song...

I had the pleasure of opening for Steve back in the 90's , when I came off stage he was sitting on some road cases .He was so nice gave the band I was playing with a compliment , He was a hero of mine before and he still is . Thanks for the Great memory

I ran into Steve at the Mapco station in Franklin, TN, fiiling up his truck. When I addressed him he looked away, thinking I was an autograph hound. When I mentioned that I just wanted to say how much I loved this song, he looked up, smiled big & spent about 5 minutes with me talking music. Thanks Steve.
