Ah, no problem. More specifically the part you're looking for appears about 4 minutes into the prelude of the piece. If you like that you might also like Götterdämmerung too. Happy listening.

Snobs? Saying that only strongly narrative driven films can be good and rejecting anything else is a lot more closed minded and, yeah, snobbish than the ability to accept cinema in all its forms.

The ending was sad but I'm glad she went back to John Rolfe

It's Wagner's 'Das Rheingold' and there is an almost identical use of the music from the end of Werner Herzog's film 'Julianes Sturz in den Dschungel'... made in 2000. If you've seen that film it's more than obvious where Malick got the inspiration for his closing scenes.

Oh boy I like Terrence Malick's movies but the New World was agony to sit through. It was one of the most boring movies I had ever seen and I got the feeling that Malick was repeating himself. The New World is beautiful to look at but not much there in the way of a story and I'm sorry cinema snobs but a movie does need to have a story of some kind to keep the viewer interested.

Mallick is one of my favourite directors.I've loved all of his films. However, i think the use of Colin Farrell was a mistake. There are better actors out there who could have brought more to the part.. and the film.

Gorgeous.

That is absurd. Did Horner really say that in an interview? A film's composer would never have access or ability to edit a film, never, period. What happened was Malick, an absolutely brilliant director, edited the film in a way that it didn't fit Horner's soundtrack very well so he put in already well known classical music instead, and it pissed off Horner. Reminiscent of Kubrick in 2001: A Space Odyssey. And almost as brilliant as movie as 2001, too.
