ditto on the "idiot" who knows so little about the noble & loving Akita! Total ignorance. Should not own any animals if that is what he thinks having one is all about.

Many moons ago, akitas were used to hunt bears! Yes, you read that correctly, BEARS! So no, a wolf or a pitbull would have posed much of a problem. Keep in mind that they are no longer raised to hunt and/or kill NOR should a pitbull or wolf be raised that way! Doing so only creates a negative reputation for the breed and the only ones who suffer are the dogs and their victim(s). Raise your dogs right and we can all live together peacefully! WOOF!

awe what big beautiful babies! I have 2 myself - a traditional male with brown saddle and muzzle (Taro) and a white one (also named Hoshi) I had to put the momma down due to Pemphigus Foliacious but the other 2 are doing fine. Male is 10, female (Hoshi) is almost 8. I sold a litter of pups before Momma passed (she was Yuki and she was my baby) This is a serious breed and not for the person who thinks a pet is something you tie to a tree in the yard! Cherish it, and it will cherish you!

Cirrus (white) & Hoshi (darker) are half brother & sister. Both from what would be called American Akita lines.

Those are beautiful. So the dark one is an American Akita and the white one a japanese akita?

you have beautiful dogs, obviously well loved.. I absolutely love my akita too, he's got honor and integrity, and in keeping with the breed standard, he's all heart.

All the positive things are true but need an intelligent and loving owner. This is NOT the dog to buy for the kids to raise.
