guyz... i thought i never see these pics again... i was livin in the former east block, and however we got this movie... i liked a lot that time and now again.... this movie says something... says you've got to fight in your whole life...it can't be comparable with any modern movie.... maybe i have prejudice... this is a great movie...

The film says that Simon's idea of life (and political commitment) is filtered through the lens of youthful voyeurism/narcissism, until someone literally smashes up his 'movie' and lets another part of reality in. Bertolucci's "The Dreamers", thirty years later, used more or less the same dramatic device to explain the same coming-of-age process.
