I also heard that you can tap the center of the touchpad twice and it should work just as well. I tried it and it worked.GOOD LUCK!Just a little simple video of what i did to fix my m1530 touchpad problem. A lot of people have the problem where is jumps around like crazy.This is my little way to fix it. May or may not work for you!!!

I upgraded to BIOS Revision A09 and I don't have the issue anymore. But this was a huuuuuge let down, anyone who tried to use my computer thought i had to "unlock it for them.If the slide to the opposite corner does not work for anyone, try to double tap on the spot that's highlighted in blue on the task bar. That's what worked for me.

I beleive the latest version is A09. Go to the DELL website to download it.

did you try sliding to the opposite corner? If you have the latest bios, it shouldn't have the problem anymore. You should probably call DELL.

i got a dell inspiron 1520 and the touchpad is awesome!!! the laptop is only pentium dual core 1.6ghz 160gb hdd 5400rpm intel graphics vista home premium. 15.4 " screen mainstream laptop . im gettin a dell xps m1540 or hp laptop or alienware
