you can start right after your appointment if you'd like! the biggest thing is just getting the courage to retwist yourself...that was the biggest thing for me. retwisting is very simple...and very easy to get salon results. take a look at my everything locs playlist for some helpful retwisting vids! there's 1 or 2 vids in there with ppl who just started their locs retwisting. let me kno if you have any questions

ditto! i just got my locs started with comb coils (3 days ago) and am planning going for another appointment with the loctician before i self manage. this seems to be the best method with my lifestyle. in your opinion, when would it be okay for me to start? cheers.

Not nec. better then retwisting, it just works better for my lifestyle.Once I did my whole head, which did take forever, touch-ups don't take as long. + I don't do my whole head at once, but if I did, I'd probably do it every 2-3 months vs every shampoo when retwisting, so it saves me time that way.(4-6x per yr vs every other week) I can work out without worrying about how my head looks.My hair always looks the same.Unlike when I was twisting, you could tell when I was due to twist again.
