The MP-40 was widely known to be the standard armament of squad leaders in the Wehrmacht. But the Russians frequently mentioned the Germans employing masses of submachine-gunners with the panzers. It also seems MP-40 would be much more suitable for police action in occupied territories, than the long K98. SO were the Germans really so rigid as to only issue MP-40s to only squad leaders?

Wow the British will just never tell it how it is. The MP40 is better by a mile.

Sten guns could be manufactured for less than £1 each. They were specifically designed to be used, maintained and easily repaired by civilians. They were dropped in their hundreds over occupied Europe to arm resistance movements.

of course the MP40 and the Sten are so similar, the sten was really a cheap copy, they were so similar ammo and magazines were interchangeable! both good weapons.
