Did John McCain intervene improperly for Charles Keating?"Verdict: True."And was John McCain putting "Country First" when he did this? Of course not - he was putting Charles Keating first. And our country got put behind, to the tune of three billion dollars.And that was something worse than just "poor judgement" at work.

The reason McCain was reprimanded was because he was a Congressman at the time and this was a Senate investigation. They felt they did not have the authority to investigate a House member.
