Sure, those are sawscale vipers (Echis sp). Which kill mosre people in Africa than all the other venomous snakes combined. I keep a bunch, so I have videos out in my catalog. Thanks for the good question.VK

I have a question. A while ago I saw a nature show where a guy went around this rocky area and uncovered rocks to expose these small VERY nasty snakes. He was collecting them to move them to less populated areas since people are often bitten by them accidentally. My dad said it was in Ethiopia. Do you know what these snakes may have been? I thought I remembered them being rattlesnakes, but they were most definitely some kind of vipers. Small, nasty, rapid continual upward striking.

You should show how fast a puff adder strikes! It surely is the fastest striker in the world. They recon it can strike a balloon twice before it bursts. We used to catch them when we were kids, until my friend got bitten. When people killed them I used to skin them.Longest skin was 1m 20cm but ive heard of bigger ones.
