Good video and sound track, As Ex R.N. myself it is sad to note that many of these ships, like the Hunts & Type 42's are now on the inactive list. VOTE LABOUR ! (not if you want a navy)

What professional Navy man cannot admire and respect the long, rich and audacious history of the Royal Navy.

I'd like to see the falklands era level of 10% GDP going to the military! 5% will do for now, and it could be easily achieved by giving them all the money that Labour instead give to quangos!

My mom served as a Wren during WWII in England and was posted to HMS Raleigh which was a land based naval station, also considered a ship for all intends and purposes. My mom's platoon was responsible for things like going aboard ships that had been in battles at sea and required replenishment and repair. The Wrens would take inventory to see what was lost, destroyed or consumed and replenish those things. Needless to say, I am very proud of my mom's naval war service to her country.

its a shame when the government wants to save money the first to suffer are the armed forces. will they never learn. at least were getting the new type 45 destroyers but only 6 of them and maybe 8 but not the 12 they promised, we want 12 give us the 12 you prommised mr brown, the 2 new carriers are a good thing at 65000 tons only the nimitz class will be bigger. but we still need a bigger navy that will not be so over stretched. give the navy what they need gordon brown, 4% GDP to the M.O.D....

It would be great to see the Royal Navy reclaim some of her former glory. If the Brits would not be so tight-assed with funds, it would be attainable, and would be a tremendous foreign policy asset for the U.K. We're not the only ones in the world that need the ability to park a CAG off foreign shores to get our way, the Falklands proved that. |
