I think bass sax should be played by more people, and have more solos in jazz bands. This is really really fantastic! There should be more bass sax players out there. he should have played more of the lower register though...if i had just heard this as a recording...i might have just thought it was a bari.

On my bari I can hit the alto altisimo equivalent to G (not very high on the alto's altisimo range, but still) no problem. The big (and longer) the reed, the more leverage you get, making it easier to pinch the reed. Small reed, the harder it is.

In my expereince, bigger saxes are easier to play, I can play a high C in Bari's altissimo just fine. |
