Nice ride. The IS300 was one car that Toyota/Lexus did right in that time period. The SC-430 is a freaking luxo coupe, not a sports car! I was going to get the 06 sport edition of the IS (the one that came with the blacked out badges) but the F'ing Mercury dealer that had it wouldn't let it go for a reasonable price (hell, it was the only car of value on their lots xD ). So I just kept my new Accord. Too bad Honda didn't make it in RWD :(BTW, thanks for stopping that rap crap.

w55 (manual transmission, about 350HP, if anything over, transmission might go out), w58 (automatic transmission, about 400HP, if anything over, transmission might go out). To get more HP from force induction (supercharger/turbocharger), you can rebuild the motor (swap head, swap headers, etc)/swap the motor (2jz-gte block most popular), swap the internals, swap the transmision, swap clutch, all the bolt ons (air intake/exhaust). By the way, all year is300's came with the same transmissions =).

2002-2005, it came in manual, 2001 did not (first year of production in USA)

Just about, the manual come with the w55 transmission (manual only), most people change it to the v160 (Toyota Seqouia transmission), since the w55 (maunal) can hold just about 400hp.
