We might be tempted to condemn China for its role in atrocities, but then we as American citizens should look in a mirror and see what we are doing in the middle east. On the other hand, we can be proud knowing that our country would never do something like this to an athlete from another country.

Was he going to compete?I would think that he would be able to contact the Olympic committee and have them talk to the Chinese consulate on his behalf. I think if it really is the case that he was being prohibited from entering the country because of his activism, then maybe the Olympic committee should take a bold stance and threaten to cancel the games in Bejing altogether.
