They went for the more minimalistic approach for the album because they wanted Thom's voice to carry the song soley. It had been a long time since they done that according to Jonny.

This verson's amazing, so different from the basement version and the album version.i tend to interpret the song as being about death, and there seems to be a panic in this version. (just an interpretation though)

as the first version of videotape is so interesting and awesome to hear it, but how RH came to perfect it in the new track is way beautiful. The evolution of the songs is just amazing!
