Ya, I realized that later. It was so long ago and I guess the time got away from me.

Stop blaming McGuinn for the horse (whore?) and the wife, the lyrics were written by Jacques Levy! He was "a New York clinical psychologist", so itś probably all some freudian thing, which was still in vogue in those days. This is 1971 Beat Club on NDR tv (Germany), they also raped "Eight miles high" with a long bass solo, busy drumming and country licks on this show. I wish McGuinn had quit in 1968.......

Jimmi was an awesome wandering onstage roadie, twiddling knobs as he wandered the stage!

Clarence died in July 1973, not 1971...

Don't be too hard on these reunions ... we are best when we are young, but debts are in discord with this harmony. How did the lead guitarist put it in Almost Famous: "Some of us have girl-friends; some of us have wives. All of us have mortgages."

I saw a concert in Buffalo, 1971 with them- It was the worst concert I ever went to. They were really late- like over 2 HOURS!!! And then they came on at finally at almost midnight, played four songs and SPLIT. It was just a couple of weeks before Clarence died.

Clarence White was a real driving force for The Byrds during this period.
