think the musical's better... and this scene in particular seems better developed.in the musical norma is much more tragic and the insanity is very dramatically set, whereas in the movie she just seems a loony and even somewhat ridiculous...

Reminds me a lot of the ending of Streetcar Named Desire, the similar fate that finds Blanche Dubois. Vivien and Gloria both did good job.
