6.17.08BOSTON MASSACRE!!!Watch the key portion of the 1st half where the Boston Celtics finished with a 26-6 run to close the half and built a 23 point lead over the LA Lakers and never looked back. The C's go on to beat the Lakers by 39 points - set the NBA record for the biggest margin of victory in a championship clincher - but most importantly, won the 2008 NBA Championship. This is the first title for the Boston Celtics in 22 years and the 17th NBA Championship in their illustrious history. Congratulations to the Boston Celtics!I'm not a fan of either team. I should be rooting for the West since I'm on the West Coast, but I can't root for the Lakers. I loved the Lakers in the 80's with their rivalry with the Celtics. But I've been rooting for the Celtics in this series. I'm just not a Kobe fan. I do respect his game and work ethic - but never liked him. Don't know quite what it is. Egomaniac? Selfish? Liar? Pouter? Maybe I don't like how he throws his teammates under the bus (Shack, Bynum) or how he wanted to ditch his team cuz he didn't get the players he wanted. This kind of sums it up in my book: When Kobe won the MVP - his teammates went TO HIM to congratulate him. When KG won the Defensive Player of the Year - HE BROUGHT his teammates up with him to accept the award together -- just little things like that. In all fairness though, I feel Kobe played his best year in his career because he finally trusted his teammates this season. The scariest thing is Bynum will be back with the Lakers next season. I think the Lakers will be back and be back stronger ... Dang! But for now...the Boston Celtics are the World Champs!
