True story about Namath. An old colleague of mine was interning with the Jets that night and he was standing next to Namath trying to lure him back upstairs. Jets PR knew Namath was drunk and tried like the dickens to avoid him going on ESPN.So when my friend approached Namath and asked him if they can head upstairs to meet with corporate big wigs, Namath's reply "Hey kid....BEAT IT!!!"Sure enough Namath went on, and the rest is history.
