GTA IV won't be as demanding as crysis non graphics wise either.Crysis not only has the best graphics, but the best physics engine too, and huge explorable landscapes. Yes GTA has these too but you can't see the whole environment at the same time. In Crysis, just like farcry, you can.In far cry in the demo level, you could use the sniper to kill most the enemies at the end of the level, before u even started, making the end much easier.

I know cuz my friend has a 7900GTX which is what the PS3 gfx card is based on. His computer ran Crysis in medium settings at a pretty low resolution with around 30-40 fps.On the other hand look at Assassin's Creed which is quite possibly bigger than GTA IV and has a hell of a lot better graphics. In Crysis I average around 35 fps with max details, and with Assassin's Creed (which actually has higher minimum requirements than Crysis) I average around 110. CryEngine 2 is just badly optimized.

256 mb works, but for a shader- and texture-heavy game like Crysis 1gb is to prefer just for the GPU. The memory requirement includes the OS memory usage so in reality the game itself usually only eats 300-500 mb on computer which is still more than what is offered on consoles. Sure they'll be able to release Crysis on consoles but due to the gfx cards being so old (the memory isn't what's important) they'll only be able to have it in maybe medium graphics and that would still lag.

@ oscarstegland: Not with the crappy code Crytek made. 256 MB VRAM is enough for the GPU, my PC has that much and a worse vid card than the PS3, 256 MB is too little though. I'm sure they can optimize memory though. Look at GTA IV, it's huge and possibly more demanding than Crysis (non-graphics wise).

Are you high?? Their are plenty of 1080P monitors (yes lcd tv monitors) 40" and above for around $1000-1500. Shutup and get rid of your crappy tube tv from walmart. :P
