I actually enjoyed the interview, but that one in the middle of his playing sucked. Lol

Interesting man who visiably looks wrecked by the blues but loves it as his escape from the hardships of life. This man is the blues. Some play it. Some are super streamlined players like Stevie Ray. But thi sguy plays every bit as good as anyone and lives the blues. Double trouble in my eyes. Fantastic archive that children can watch to get the real feelings of blues.

I really wish the god damn interview was not played during the song. Stupid ass editor. We need more ALbert King videos.

Sure hes great but after listening to jeff Healey sing and play with such soul this looks pale in comparision. Good show tho. But Jeff...OMG he was so so so so much!

I did miss him...good catch. I included D. Gilmour because he is basically a blues player anyway though he played a lot of rock and roll. (And his tone is simply heavenly.) But you are right, I missed Peter Green so consider him in the "hon. mention" category.

Peter Green is an obvious miss from your list. He had the best tone of any white blues player, and also one of the best vocalists.

That's where the different tone comes from. But you have to adjust your tone a bit or it just sounds muddy. It's really not difficult to pick with your thumb.. I do it a lot. Most blues is mainly left hand techniques anyway....Unless you're Albert King or Hendrix.

OK- anon540, I am a gullible one I guess. Yah, jamminjimi8 says itanother way.. below u..that 'he SAID that in order to connect.' I get so taken in by the PERFORMANCE that I forget that its WORDS ON A STAGE. YES, a 'girl' who could sing beautifully, and do what he said. I'm slow but I evetually catch up/ think about it! He was a 'swooner!' Not a pimp, Indigo must think a pimp is something cool, but its not. Why number an artist? There are too many greats to categorize.
jamminjimi8 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
He said that in order to connect with people in that situation...i think lol.
anon540 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
He had the opportunity available. He chose to be single for the most part.He chose a girl who could sing beautifully and do what he said. One who would never leave him. What could be better? |
