If you want to hear some really tasty lead guitar work from Derringer, check out the outro solo on "Funky Music", from Johnny Winter's album "Johnny Winter And" (not the live album). It's him & Winter trading guitar licks, but Derringer dominates - has a thicker tone & uses the wah wah pedal a bit. The song is on youtube.

Rick is an original and an influence on other singers and players from before Kiss existed. To me in fact it always sounded like Steve Miller was copying Rick, at least as a singer.

Sounds a bit like Ace Frehley.

If you have everything by Rick (like me) you have quite a collection! Love this LP! Lots of great tunes for the style on this album."Good Dirty Fun" in 83 was his last true rock LP before he had a 10 year gap ( while producing) before putting out 5 blues CD's between 1993 and 2000.

That li'l dynamo is a powerhouse! Saw Rick many times with both Johnny and Edgar back in the day. Alan Merrill can be seen almost any Monday night at the migthy Jon Paris's jams at B.B. Kings on 42nd St. in NYC. Jon is also one mofo of a guitarist and all around musician. Check him out!
