i know alot about stone being the son of a father who owns a company that specializes in stone countertops. granite is by far a better investment because marble is softer and can stain easier than granite. Granite is actually a stone that is much older whereas marble is a younger stone. Being that granite is older, it is much durable and less pourous. but still you need a sealant for both products.

I did marble tile countertops... cost me $150 for the entire counter including backsplash.Hardly what I would call expensive.

Marble countertops are sooo expensive...Granite just seems like a better investment
