You're right, I never realized how loud Brett had to sing in order for his voice not to be masked by the instruments. Don't know how he can jump around so much and still sing. He's a natural performer. I enjoyed watching this. Thanks for sharing.

I LOVE the duet number! It is unusual, and daring -- THANK YOU, NEIL for directing your fans to this video! I always love Rent too, always makes me smile to hear it! Those hard rock musicians could have tone the instrument down a little bit to let Neil's voice be the "star" of this number....THANK YOU, Mike Christie for remastering and posting this here!!! We can't tell you enough how much such efforts are appreciated!

Amazing!! thank you so much for this.I have the cd single of Film star where the versions with Neil Tennant appear as B-Sides, and was looking for the video version for quite a while.

I still recall how in 1996 I heard about this performance via English music press (NME, I think) and was hoping that the audio would be available as a b-side or a bootleg. "Saturday Night" & Rent" came out with Filmstar CD2 shortly thereafter. 12 years later, I finally get to see the video for both songs! |
