WOW. This rendition is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. FLAWLESS!I am now in love with the theremin and Takeuchi's playing. And the person who said the theremin sounds retarded no matter how hard you try, you're a moron. It sounds like strings to me, and probably even more challenging than any string instrument out there, considering the "invisibility" of the strings you're strumming.BRAVO!

The effect of body capacitance on an oscillator was probably first noticed by Lee de Forest during the development of the vacuum tube triode. De Forest built an electronic musical instrument ("Audion Piano") based on some of the same principles as the theremin in 1915. Leon Theremin was aware of this while experimenting in a Government laboratory in St. Petersburg around 1917, and developed his first instrument there.

The only thing "retarded" here is your asinine comment.

Wow. His pitch is absolutely perfect! Although I would have prefered more vibrato. As much as his technicality is incredible, this doesn't seem to possess the power to move me like Clara Rockmore's rendition can.
