And Amy is a understudy why??? She's like a young Mady Mesple!

It is pre-recorded. I can't cite the source, but I know I've read it on a reliable site somewhere...

I've never seen this. I know Amy was Sarahs' understudy, but I didn't know she actually got a chance to perform in the show! :)

Pre-recorded, and played each night by the sound guys. For the first part of the song (where they are running across the bridge) they are played by doubles, the Phantom & Cristine are standing at the side of the stage at this point waiting to get into the boat. From my memory, the whole song is on clik-trak, but they _may_ sing live when boat is on stage, I don't think so though.

clik trak?

I'd say Peter's kind of sliding, but that's just me, though I thought he did a pretty decent job. amy is so young here as Christine. 16, wasn't it? Wow! Such a gorgeous and mature voice for a young age. I liked her cadenza, as well as the orchestra. Good job all around!

Anyone got the date of this recording, I crewed on the Phantom 2000 tour. To those commenting on Peter's voice, I believe this song was 100% clik trak (open to correction on the latter part though).

Wow... I don't think it sounds like KKA anymore than it sounds like any other Christine's cadenza. I think Amy sounds way better than the best I've heard from KKA.

To be fair, Peter Karrie does have a distinct style of singing... not everyone is a fan.But I agree he ISN'T scooping his notes here... I think the mistake people make is thinking his distinct style is because he is trying to achieve the note. It isn't.He hits the notes just fine here. It's just that he adjusts his volume and emphasis ALOT and in bizarre places. Well, bizarre places as in not where most Phantoms emphasize. People don't like different. |
