I don't like spring as a season, but I love the way this just captures everything about Spring, the way nature slows down in a deep hibernation and then slow and vivaciously comes back to life! Amazing! Vivaldi caught on music what artists strive to capture on canvas!

Wow, it's Michael Hordern? I love him! He's got such a warm voice. And I agree, it's good to have the sonnets going with the music. Interesting though, the version Hordern reads is translated differently to the one on Wiki, and I wonder where he gets all the initial stuff from, the 'a time' speech, that's not part of the spring sonnet. Either way, nice prelude to the actual music |
