You need to get drivers for sound. Intel wireless cards don't work with leopard. You'll need to either buy a USB wifi dongle or a broadcom based wireless card (what I did) such as the Dell TrueMobile 1390.

you need to download the drivers. i can send them to you if you give me your email address. don't post it in the comments; send me a personal message so spambots don't pick it up.

Ah, awesome! Yeah, I've looked at M1330, and find it not very good value in comparrison to the M1530. I actually want a large screen, because my current laptop has an 17", so jumping all the way down to 13 would be hard. I'm probably gonna get the M1530 then. Thanks for all your help, greatly appreciated!EMZ=]

Also, if you decide to go with the XPS M1530, I can send you a guide that details all of the steps I used and possibly some configuration files to help you out. Since you're planning to install linux you can use essentially the exact same method I used for installation. You can PM me if you decide to go that route.

Well, if you plan on gaming, then a Macbook is a pretty poor choice (no discrete graphics option). If you want a 13" model I'd suggest getting the Dell XPS M1330 (basically a smaller version of this computer), but it has a weaker graphics card. It's also lighter and a bit cheaper and you can get essentially the same options available in the M1530, other than the graphics card and a blu-ray burner. You've pretty much mentioned the only problems I've encountered, and they are easy to live with. |
