I can imagine drifting can be very good to block people from overtaking you in a race, but other than that. I personally wouldn't use it in a real race.

Holy crap on a stick.irocz0r, is this making any sense?In tight corners, letting the rear slip will take away a lot of traction, but is controlled by brakes and gas pedals, an countersteering, if you put a super fast FF car on a touge, especially a downhill, winding one, it will beat the hell out of the super FF car.Drifting corners can be more effective in a race, depending on when it is used. And they use both grip and drift, it would be deadly good.:)

Dirft CAN be faster on a tight course. (such as a touge)It conserves speed and RPM levels. :)

Not true, its used in rallying cause it is faster on dirt, gravel and in snow, where their is significantly less traction than pavement or tarmac road.
